Student Council 2023/24

Nov 24, 2023

The Student Council in Boyne Community School is headed by an elected Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson and consists of class representatives that are elected from each tutor group.  The function of the council is to create a forum for student voice to b heard and to allow students to work in a democratic partnership with school staff and management.

Council meetings are held once a week and its members discuss issues/ideas that are brought forward by class representatives, teachers, management and the Parent’s Association.  The council debates the issues and concerns in detail and work together to put forward solutions and actions to create a positive school environment.  The Student Council is also consulted by management and staff on school policies and this allows them to promote student voice in the school.
