Today, we hosted the FAI National Schools 5 Aside referees course, welcoming over 35 enthusiastic transition-year students from the Boyne, Ashbourne and Ratoath Community Schools.

It was a fantastic student leadership and communication session led by FAI Head of Refereeing David Murphy & facilitated by FAI Development Officer, Graham Kane.

Congratulations to our dedicated Senior Cycle, 1st year soccer peer mentor students: Cian, Josh, Alex, Ross, Josh, Daniel, Senan and Cormac.

Addressing all participants, 1st-year soccer coach Mr Rayfus said the Boyne CS, were very proud the host the course and congratulated all students as they unlock new opportunities and enhance their skills as future referees and potential football coaches. Refereeing demands strong leadership and communication skills, invaluable skill sets applicable well beyond the field of sport.

Through the FAI educational pathway, doors are now opened to exciting opportunities in refereeing and coaching for all interested students. This pathway will enrich your lives and bring a lot of happiness and joy to families and the wider football community! Well done to all participants and best wishes to you in your first steps in your football coaching & refereeing journeys.
