TY, LCA & JCSP students completed a certified course in CPR training this week.
Restart a Heart Day is a practical course that outlines the procedure relating to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillator use. The course was delivered to our students with the main focus being placed on what to do in the event of a heart attack. This is a hands-on course, offering training by medical professionals to our students in Boyne CS.
The aim of Restart a Heart Day is to bring awareness, education and training to our students in order to increase the likelihood of lives being saved in the event of a cardiac arrest, as the early moments after this occurs are critical and a trained person on the scene can make the critical difference.
We at Boyne CS would sincerely like to thank the National Ambulance Service & Dr Brody’s Braveheart Community First Responders Group Trim for completing this course with our students.
We would also like to thank local Garda Ciaran O’Keeffe from Trim Garda Station for organising the event.
