Today, Clara Maloney, representing Prosper Meath, continued the disability awareness workshop for Transition Year (TY) students with a dedicated focus on autism. The workshop’s primary goal remains fostering understanding and empathy for individuals on the autism spectrum.
Students actively engaged in the workshop, exploring the intricacies of diverse communication styles and sensory sensitivities through interactive activities and open discussions. Practical strategies were shared, highlighting the importance of creating inclusive environments based on patience and acceptance. Role-playing exercises offered students a firsthand experience of the challenges individuals with autism face, fostering empathy and compassion among participants.
