On Monday the 22nd, over one hundred 3rd-year English students visited Clasac Theatre in Clontarf to attend the ‘Shakespearience- Merchant of Venice’ performance and workshop.
The Gaiety School of Acting ran the show, and the students got involved in making staging decisions, such as the lighting colour at specific points in the play and the character’s costumes.
They also watched the actors perform several scenes and engaged in character discussions with the actors afterwards. The experience was very beneficial and supportive for our students and helped to bring the 427-year-old play to life!’
