With the launch of Ireland reads, Boyne Community School would like to thank the student council for all the hard work they have put into the refurbishment of the past number of months. The whole school community really looks ofrward to seeing the finished product!

Irish libraries, Children’s Books Ireland, NALA, booksellers and others are partnering once
again to get the whole country reading this month in the lead up to Ireland Reads Day on
Saturday, 25 th of February. We are asking everyone to pledge to ‘squeeze in a read’ during February or on Ireland Reads
Day itself, February 25 – whether that’s reading a book, a newspaper, a comic – whatever
works grabs your interest! We would love if schools, teachers, parents and students would get involved, pledge to read
and spread the word!

Here’s how you can get involved
Visit www.irelandreads.ie, where you or your class can:
 Let us know how much you’re going to read for Ireland Reads (if you’re pledging for
your school or class, send an email to school.irelandreads@lgma.ie).
 Get some reading inspiration – simply enter the type of book you like best, how long
you have available to read each day and the website will suggest a book and tell you
how long it will take to read it.

Visit your library on Ireland Reads Day
All over the country, libraries, bookshops and partners will be holding events and activities
in support of Ireland Reads.
