We had the pleasure of welcoming our first year students to the school today. We look forward to their return on Monday. Over the weekend try not to worry if they don’t seem full of chat about school or don’t want to talk in detail about school. They may be tired after meeting new people,seeing new places and experiencing secondary school life for the first time. Try to make connections rather than lots of questions. For example making a comment ‘Oh, you look tired’ rather than ‘Well, how did you get on? , Who’s in your class?, What are all your teachers names?’ The comment just takes the pressure off to allow them to express themselves rather than the pressure of remembering names etc. If you need to contact me during school hours my number is 0867853216,
