First-Year Awards Ceremony

Today, we held our First-year awards ceremony. In the absence of the First-Year – Year Head, Mr O Reilly, our Deputy Principal, Mr Flanagan, stepped in to do the masters of ceremonies.

Numerous students were recognized for their achievements in various subjects: Engineering, Bobby Benson, Construction Studies, Tagdb McGovern, Home Economics, Aoileann Smyth, Art, Rachel Farrell, DCG, Daniel Connolly, Business, Ryan McGovern, Jamie O Brien, Enterprise, Darragh Healy, Michael Flynn, Camillas Byrne, Religious Education, Mark Dean.

In addition to academic awards, we celebrated our students’ extracurricular successes in Hurling, Seanie Henry, Basketball, Scott O Toole, Gaelic football, Conall O Reilly, Athletics, Rachel Farrell, Student Council, Lui Fahy & Avanthitika, Green Schools, Conor Fanning, Walking Club, Girls Soccer, Vanessa Vrublevska, Cross Country, Oran Conneely, Micro-bit, Eoin Cheevers, L2LP artist, Carina Sheridan and Soccer Star Award, Liam Fagan.

We also honoured students for their excellent attendance in school, for following our schools Values (Meas, Mórtas, Muintearas). We recognise the importance of respecting ourselves and everyone around us (meas), of always doing our best and having pride in our work (mórtas) and, as a community school, feeling a sense of belonging to the whole community (muintearas).

The outstanding achievement award, Leo Zivcic. Students were honoured with the contribution to school life award through Music, Lui Fahy, Jacob Flood, Eoin Cheevers, Riain McGillcuddy & Sebastian Walesas.

Our student of the year award went to Avanthitika.
