For their Practical Achievement Task, Class Tara are currently participating in an eight-week cooking course, where they have been developing a variety of culinary skills. This week, they successfully created two classic desserts: Swiss Rolls and Chocolate Eclairs.

For the Chocolate Eclairs, students learned to make a light, airy choux pastry. They piped the pastry into long, delicate shapes, baked them until golden, and then filled each with whipped cream, finishing with a drizzle of melted chocolate. This hands-on process gave them insights into the unique characteristics of choux pastry, including tips on achieving the right texture and baking technique

They also made the Swiss Roll, which involved whisking eggs and sugar to the perfect consistency, folding in flour, and baking a light sponge. After baking, they spread the sponge with jam, then carefully rolled it up, creating a visually impressive and delicious treat

A huge thanks to Ms. Gray for her invaluable guidance, which has been leading our students through these recipes and helping them refine their baking skills.
