Well done to Amber, Sophie, Tara, Katie and Aaron for being excellent ambassadors for the school at the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition! President Michael D Higgins officially opened the exhibition on Wednesday 11th January. Students had a brilliant time presenting their projects to the judges, other students, parents and members of the public over a number of days including their fellow transition year class who visited them on Thursday.
We were honoured to speak to An Tánaiste Micheál Martin who was very interested to hear about Amber & Sophie’s project entitled “To Dye or Not to Dye”. This project examined the impact of bleach on the tensile strength of hair. Senator Shane Cassells also viewed our projects and was fascinated by the self watering plant pot designed and built by Tara, Katie and Aaron. Katie described her time at BTYSTE as “an experience of a lifetime. I can’t even put into words what an amazing time I had”
All of us at Boyne Community School are very proud of the students and commend them for their hard work and dedication to their projects.
