Classes Neart and Eagna have successfully completed the Transition Year Driver’s Education course. Each student had the opportunity to ask questions on the rules of the road and prepared for their theory test by completing a mock theory exam. Students also learned about car safety and covered essentials such as changing tyres and checking engines. The effects of mobile phones and drink and drug driving were emphasised with students trying out “beer goggles”. The highlight of the day was when students put into practice what they had learnt. Each student spent time driving the dual controlled car with a qualified driving instructor. This was a very beneficial course which all students really enjoyed. Many thanks to Jenny Woods Driving School for facilitating the course with our students and to Drogheda and Trim Credit Union for generously sponsoring this module.
