Transition Year students participating in the Future Leaders module recently organised and ran a highly successful hurling blitz for a large number of first-year students. Demonstrating their leadership skills, the TY students took charge of all aspects of the event. This included selecting and mentoring the first-year teams, preparing and marking out the pitches, clearly explaining the rules of the blitz, refereeing the games, and providing enthusiastic encouragement to the younger students throughout the afternoon.The blitz proved to be an excellent bonding experience for the first years. It also served as a showcase for the impressive leadership qualities developed by the Transition Year students in the Future Leaders module, highlighting their organisational abilities, communication skills, and commitment to supporting younger students.
