Well done to our TY students Patrick Cribbin, Ciaran Enright and Sean Harrigan who did a fantastic job at representing Boyne Community School at the Certified Irish Angus competition. They are the first group to represent our school at the competition. 🐮🐮 Their project focused on improving the efficiency, profitability and sustainability of Certified Irish Angus beef. ♻️🥩 They investigated options such as earlier feeding in the animal’s life and types of nutrition for meeting earlier slaughter targets and producing quality beef. ⏰🌿 They produced a fabulous display of their journey over the past 6 months and the data they collected along the way. They met with many judges and representatives from Kepak, ABP, The Irish Farmers Journal & Certified Irish Angus Beef. They also met with Minister of Educatjon, Helen McEntee. They received wonderful feedback from all. A huge thank you to Ms. Murphy for opening up the opportunity and for her guidance & support during the process. Thank you to Ms. Brady for supporting them on the day too. Also, thank you to the farmers and experts they met a long the way who provided them with the knowledge to base the project. And of course, thank you to the parents for their continued support. 👏🏼🎊 We await the results of the finalists who will receive the angus calves at the National Ploughing Championships so stay tuned. 📲⏳
