In a commanding showcase of skill and teamwork, our first-year boy’s soccer team secured a resounding 9-0 victory against Colaiste Ris, Dundalk, at the MDL grounds in Navan today.
The win sealed the top spot in Group B and propelled the team directly into the quarterfinals as group winners in the northeast region’s Div 1 section in the new year.
Up front, Oran and Ronan emerged as the stars of the match, each netting impressive hat-tricks that showcased their goal-scoring prowess. The duo’s exceptional performance was complemented by three other smart goals from George, Daniel & Conall, highlighting the team’s well-rounded attacking capabilities.
Adding to the day’s significance, Mr. Gerry Gorman, the esteemed ambassador and patron of the MDL, spoke to the boys after this impressive victory. Mr Gorman shared wisdom and advice, enriching the overall experience for players and coaches alike.
Their next challenge awaits as they face Le Cheile S.S., Tyrrelstown, in the opening round of the All-Ireland Cup next week.
